Happy New Year! Live, Love, Eat & LOSE WEIGHT!

Happy 2012 everyone!!

I’m sure that in your New Year’s Resolution, there is the same line that you write every year — LOSE WEIGHT!! Yes, this year REALLY make it to your ideal bodyweight FOR GOOD! So you probably went to Barnes & Noble and bought one of the new books on weight loss to try a new diet, a new workout, or something like that, but the truth is that there is really nothing new. It’s all the same with different names, but it gives you the illusion that this time you will really make it to the body of your dreams. Then you will lose some weight and a few months later, you will find yourself in a bookstore again searching for something that works this time for real and for good, and the journey will start again, so in 2013 your New Year’s Resolution will be the same — LOSE WEIGHT!! I call this vicious circle “running on the treadmill” because you work and work, run and run, and get NOWHERE.

WEIGHT LOSS cannot be achieved from a diet or exercise, because those are just superficial answers. To let go of the weight, you must enter the INNER JOURNEY, simply because your body is a reflection of what is going on in your inner world: in your mind, in your emotions, and in your spirit. You can’t let go of the weight if you are still afraid of getting attention from men or women, or you’re still holding anger toward your family members, or you’re still afraid to unleash your maximum potential. When you find your inner freedom, emotional eating will stop, and you will realize that to be slim is a birthright, and you don’t have to work hard to be there, because when your mind and your emotions are balanced, you will find yourself there already.

Go back to your journal and make a correction to your New Year’s Resolution that this year you are going to look WITHIN, you are going to start or keep going on your journey toward the Light, toward inner peace and balance. As a side effect, you will find yourself looking in the mirror not recognizing yourself, not just because of your weight release, but because your eyes will look different. Something will be different inside yourself. You will feel more powerful, more optimistic, less fearful, and the body will follow accordingly.

The Master Just Ended

The Master course in Costa Rica just ended successfully. I am very proud of all of the participants. They showed courage, determination, patience, and faith. I’ve seen the most incredible metamorphoses. People came with dim eyes and left with two flashlights. The light within is on, and the journey is moving forward from the jungle to the marketplace. The Master is designed to free you from suffering, to eliminate all of the masks, to find the true self, and to be authentic. We are planning to do the next Master either in the Himalayas or in Thailand. Now I’m looking forward to the upcoming FAITH, the essential ingredient toward the inner journey.

The Christ Meditation

A while ago, there was a meditation master that was teaching his students, and he said to them,
“Now we’re going to practice The Christ Meditation,” and the students looked at him with
a surprised look because they never heard such a thing. One of the students asked him, “Master,
what is The Christ Meditation?” In that moment, the Master closed his eyes and went deep within
and suddenly a tear ran down his face, and after a few minutes, he opened his watery eyes and said,
“The Christ Meditation is when you go deep within and you connect to the most incredible,
beautiful Divine Love that makes your eyes overflow with tears of love, of joy, of pain, of beauty,
and the most incredible of all of the loves. It’s when you become that love.”

On December 17, a few people are going to assemble on the Caribbean side of Costa Rica in the
jungle to go through the Master Retreat for 21 days where we’re going to practice The Christ
Meditation. We’re going to get connected to the inner beauty, the inner love, the inner joy that
makes your eyes tear up and makes your mind empty and your heart open.

Why I Like Anthony De Mello

I found Anthony De Mello probably 15 or 16 years ago when I read his book Awareness, and it really grabbed my attention. I don’t usually advertise too many books, but this book definitely requires attention, because Anthony De Mello (who has since passed away) was a special man. When I read this book, I looked up who he was, and I found out that he was the real deal. He was a Catholic Jesuit from India, and he was obviously surrendered to Jesus Christ, but he was spending months in solitude on retreats being with himself in prayer. He was not just a knowledgeable person, he was a realized person, and he was practicing the discipline of opening as love. I learned a lot from him. I wish there were more people like him in the world – Jesuits that are not dogmatic or religious, but are open to love. It is necessary that you spend time alone, go into a jungle, go into deep meditation and deep communion with God to have those realizations. If you have a chance, if you haven’t read it yet, buy the book Awareness: The Perils and Opportunities of Reality by Anthony De Mello. It will give you insights. It will give you understanding. And it is written by an incredible man.

Are you growing old or GROWING UP

One thing I noticed is that one of the most difficult things to do in life is “CUT THE UMBILICAL CORD”.

Obviously your umbilical cord was cut by the doctor during birth; however I’m talking about the emotional umbilical cord that no doctor can cut for you, only you can cut it yourself. First you must know that you have it and one way to recognize it is to notice that when you are around your family they still treat you like you are 15 years old. Your behavior allows them to still scold you and maybe not trust you with your own money and decisions. When you enter around your family’s energetic field you regress into a child and you may do the same with a partner which is why your relationship is not working because unconsciously your parents are with you.
You go on and on looking for different partners carrying the “umbilical cord” with you and the relationships never quite work.

To grow up means to cut those threads of energy from the past. It is the realization that you are your own woman or man and that you are no longer a little girl but a Queen or you are no longer a kid but a King.
This transition is not easy because growing up means to face your responsibility. It means to face your fears and once you do it you are no longer the pleaser of your family. Real love among you will happen and instead of GROWING OLD you will GROW UP.
Your life will change; you will start a new business which is probably something that your family never told you that you could do. You will be able to love without those infantile needs to get attention. You will learn to build a healthy, loving relationship with your family.

Sing As If It Were Spring!

Do you feel like writing poetry lately? Do you feel inspired to sing in your car at the top of your lungs? Do you want to dance the “gratitude dance” to God?

If you don’t feel like doing those things, it is because your heart its closing and you are giving up on love. You are listening to the “bad news” about the economy, the upcoming flu, possible terrorist attacks, etc. The dark season has arrived, and it’s easy to close down and allow the mind to entertain thoughts of anger and fear instead of focusing on LOVE and FAITH. WAKE UP brothers and sisters! Outside the leaves are turning yellow and are falling from the trees, but OPEN your heart and let SPRING in! Don’t trust your five senses, don’t believe what your negative friends implant into your heart. TRUST that everything is OK when things are not working. TRUST when you have no evidence of success that you will succeed. TRUST when your heart is in pain that it will be healed. This TRUST is called FAITH. FAITH is the knowing that GOD IS WITH YOU no matter what! Deep inside, there is a little light called “HOPE.” Even if your body is feeling anxiety and inside you are grieving, it is there. Keep focusing on hope, and IT WILL GROW, and step by step your heart will relax and open. It will beat with passion. And as it grows, your mouth will start to speak words of VICTORY, LOVE, SUCCESS, and VISION. When there is an overflow of love, it will come out of your mouth as beautiful words. Continue to utter those words of FAITH over and over again. Then the recession will disappear from your consciousness, the flu will stay away from you, and you will begin to sing in the car as if it were spring again letting the light in to shine as the autumn sun is distancing itself from the earth.
